I've used Bullseye, TG and Unique, all good but they are dirty.

I'm now using W231 and so far it works fine for both (and 38s) and is cleaner.

I also use w231 for 45, and 9mm. Works great also for suppressed fire.

Titegroup is dirty? All I do is wipe down the front end and do a detailed field strip when needed.

I have been using Unique for decades, but I once my supply of Unique is used, I am switching to Vihtavuori N320. According to this article it is more accurate and burns cleaner. http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/...45-acp-pistol/

A couple threads away from this one IM 700x. Several ppl say they use it for several handgun rounds.

My all time favorite powder for target loads in 9mm, 40S&W and .45 Auto is VV-N320. It also is priced like it is the best.

I load light and noticed that titegroup was pretty dirty, so I switched to Magnum primers and it really causes a much cleaner burn in all of my calibers ( 45, 40, 38 and 9mm ). I load no where near max though so if you are going to try magnums then start light. In 9mm and 40 cal I can tell a difference in power factor between the primers but in 38 SPC and 45 ACP I can't tell any difference what so ever besides how much cleaner the cases are with the magnum primers.

Power Pistol has been a very clean burning powder! For both high pressure loads and low pressure loads.

Very true. As a wise long time reloader told me when I was getting started. All you will need is W231 for pistol and W 748 for rifle.

W231 is a good powder and cleaner than Bullseye or Tightgroup. If you want a little more velocity, use Unique. Unique likes it better loaded mid to max range. It also burns a bit cleaner at those loading.

I don't load 9mm Luger but it is the best powder for 45 ACP, IMHO. My next Unique purcahse will be an 8-pounder...

I am gonna stark making a lot of .45 to test out. Now that I have a FRTRP almost secured I plan to shoot more .45 to see what the fuss is about...

I have 2 bottles of bullseye and 2 of hp-38. I will try bullseye first and then hp-38 to see the difference. I will not load the hoppers, just trickle in the powder first.

I heard that HP-38 WAS best for many calibers of handgun.
