    Accurate 223/5.56 XBR load ?

I am interested to see how well the 223 I built my wife can group. I have xbr, LC, cci br and berger vld 73gr on hand. Anyone have a tight group load for XBR powder?

I think nobody's jumping in to hump your leg with responses because we all know that what's a phenomenally accurate load in our gun isn't probably going to be in yours.

I'd start with 1.5grn below max and tune up or down in .2grn increments. Read the targets you produce and make any needed adjustments.

So based on this theory FGMM should shoot like crap in most guns?

I can take 3 completely different guns and shoot FGMM sub 1" in the wind with bad eyes and coffee jitters. So there are loads that are more inherently accurate than others. Coincidentally I can take LC brass, 168gr smk's, cci-br and 42.5grs xbr and make a sub one inch group in most 308's.

              Just sayin.....

Any one actually have some dope on a load for 223's and 70+gr projectiles?

There are a lot of factors that come into play. Some are not even related to your reload. Barrel twist, barrel length, seating depth, crimp/no crimp, case length, COL, etc.

The question you'r asking can't be answered with any degree of accuracy.

So hornady match, Federal match, black hills match need to pack it up and go home?

                  I give up.

Sorry no ones been of help, I think most of it is do to not alot of folks here have ever tried XBR.
I haven't tried anything larger than the 53 V-Max so far, But loving it
with the 53's, I went out again today and confrimed my original findings.
If you do find a heavy bullet load for the XBR powder, please share.

Ill make up some stepped loads and report back. Its a shame most here have NOTHING to add and come back repeatedly to prove it.

Try the National Match Forum, there are a lot of highpower folks who have used/tested 8208XBR for the AR15 platform.

Have used 8208XBR for SMKs in 52/53, 69, and 80 in my WOA upper.

Works very well with 52/53. 69 and 80 SMK are ok for my purposes as long as it prints in the 10 ring.

I use reduced targets that simulate 200, 300, and 600 yard distance at 100 yards.

I'm thinking of sticking to RE15 but 8208XBR is so easy to throw a charge.

Not your powder but I recently picked up 8#'s of ARComp. I have been loading SMK 77's w/cann at 22.7gr and am getting sub-moa groups with it. Was using R15 previously and was getting just over moa with 23gr charges. Got tighter grouping and use .75 less moa to get out to 640 yards. Unfortunately you are most likely going to have to experiment with your particular choice of powder and projectiles to see what your wife's rifle can do with it. Sorry I can't be of much help, good luck with the load development.
