My point about .45ACP was taken out of context. If you buy all of the components and assemble your self it will cost more than going down to Walmart and buying a bulk pack.

Since there is no place around here where I can go and buy all of the stuff I have to have it shipped which cost even more.

Don't get me wrong though, I still reload for .40S&W, .45ACP and .45AR as well as .38 Special, .357Magnum, .44Special, .44Magnum and then a few rifle calibers. I do have some 9mm dies but haven't touched them in a few years. The 9mm cases are just too small and I seem to fumble a lot with them and half end up on the floor at least once.

In the long run, reloading is CHEAPER. I stock up on component when I see them on sale. I can tailor make diffrent loads, and I have unlimited FREE supply of brass I pick up from an indoor range of which I am a member.

No brainer for me, I reload for all the firearms I have (except rimfires, of course).

at the current price, it's a toss up. I do save my brass for reloading, if I ever decide to. True, I can save a few cents/round but at currently price though, it's about a burger and fries. I rather save the calories and buy the ammo

fyi, Natchez has CCI Blazers(aluminum case) for $6/box of 50. It's in their Jan flyer.

fyi2, Graf's 50 anniversary sale is on. Armscor 9mm brass is $3/100 on sale 2/28.

My 650 paid for itself within the first year. The rest is gravy. I also have a RCBS single stage for my rifle rounds. It just keeps putting money in my pocket. For calibers like 45 Colt, 45-70, 6.5 Swede, 6.5 Japanese and 43 spanish, the savings are huge. And when was the last time you could buy 8x58 Danish at Wally World? How about 11mm Mauser? Last weekend, I cranked out a quick 500 rounds of 45ACP for my new Colt, and some 30-06 for my M1. When I make 9mm, I use components that I know will bring out the best of my HP for less than the bargan basement stuff. In an hour or two, I can have from 500 to 1000 high quality rounds made. I couldn't afford to shoot if I didn't reload.

For the price of the steel cased garbage .223 thats out there, I will be cranking out high quality ammo. And when I hear that xm193 went up again, oh well I didn't even notice.
