How to tell if ammo is reloaded?

    Hello

I have a bunch of 30-06 rounds that I received from my grandfather. (in cases, no boxes) A lot of it is match brass with long moly coated hollow point bullets and some other soft point and FMJ bullets. I know he used to do some reloading but have no idea if these are factory or reloaded rounds.

Is there any tell tail sings to figure out if these are factory or reloads? (they look just like new rounds) I have calipers and can measure the rounds but have no idea what the dimensions would mean.

I don't own a 30-06 so I'm looking to either sell the rounds or pull the bullets and sell the components.

Any info would be appreciated, thanks

    Matt

EDIT: added pics and yes there are different headstamps. Now looking closer at the brass, some do have some marks on them but some don't have any marks at all. I guess I've answered my own question.

I'm also noticing different crimps and sealants so I think there are some new and some reloads. I think I'll just pull the bullets and sell the components.

    Thanks for the replies.

REEDIT: There are 150 rounds like the ones shown. Are they worth anything in components and is there anyone in San Diego interested in separating them for the parts?

    Thanks for the replies

Can you post a couple of pics of some of the ammo.
    Side and primer.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.
    I'm Back.

What is the headstamp? Do the primers match? Any ejector marks on the brass?

And if they are reloads and if you don't know if they actually came from a licensed reloader ammo manufacturer, they can't legally be sold either.
CA ammo sales have to be face to face if they are PP I believe. Screwed up laws, I don't even know about CA PP laws really.

              Reloads no question.
Look closely at case heads you can clearly see extractor marks. The different headstamps also a give away. And the lack of primer crimp on mil brass and most near all factory ammo has brass primers.
I used to reload so I could shoot more, now I shoot more so I can reload more.

Military brass. So any hallow tip of molly bullet is a reload.

The cases are probably worth $30-45. Not knowing what the powder is, I'd probably either throw it away or use it for emergency fire starter. The bullets may be worth another ~$45 or so depending on how many of each of the three types there are. If there are 50 of each, it's probably not worth developing a load for a lot that small. If there are 100 of one, then possibly.

I'd be reluctant to shoot hand loaded ammunition without knowing what powder and bullet was used.

Were there any notes on the boxes that might be helpful?
