Can Dillon Carbide dies fit in other single stage presses

Hi, Im thinking about starting to reload .45 and sometime ago bought a set of .45 dies. my question is,can my dies fit another press or are they specifically made for Dillon products? And how difficult is it to reload .45acp?

For the most part almost all dies are universally interchangeable. There are some exceptions like the Dillon dies for the Square deal press.

45acp is a good starter round. Dillon dies will fit any standard press.

Thank you for the info. Luckily, I have been saving all my brass and then some after a shoot. So I have a lot of cases to start off with. Can anyone recommend other equipment , like a single stage press, powder, deburrer,or anything I might need to get me up and running?

Buy a Dillon 550 and cry once.

There are some sticky thread in this forum that you might find useful. I would start with this one - http://calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=108907 as it contains a lot of good information about equipment.

Get a Lee Classic Turret press for starting out on 45 ACP. That setup with a Lee Auto Drum powder dispenser and you'll be cranking out those rounds much easier.

I use Xtreme Bullets 200g round nose with Power Pistol for my 45 loads. They work very well.

Since you're just starting out with .45, pay attention to the primer size of the cases. Most use large pistol primers, but a few use small pistol primers. Namely Blazer. Nothing inherently wrong with either size, but you'll need to sort them.

I also use Power Pistol, along with Silhouette. Both of those powders work in .45 and 9mm, and many other pistol calibers.

How many rounds do you expect to need per month? How much "hobby" time can you afford? Are you significantly mechanically inclined? Are you very conscientious to process?

I'd steer you toward a kit, or assemble your own. Or buy someone else's gear. There's always used outfits for sale.

I started with the lee hand loader . Probably less than 50 on ebay .
Good to start and learn on . in a few months people will be selling
                        presses cheap .
I would start with a couple of used reloading manuals and read
                        reloading 101 here .

Get the Lyman Reloading Manual #49 or50 and read it. It will answer many questions and is a good source of load data.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

99% of all dies use 7/8x14 threads.
