Walmart ammo changes?

I saw the Encinitas store still has a very full cabinet with rather full prices too.

No .22LR, never see that there. I think those same guys are still buying it all thinking the shortage will return or never ended.

Just wanted to make sure on that... I'm thankful and at the same time saddened by the response. If $10.54 was right I'd be right behind you in the que stocking it DEEP.

Opps!! Sorry about that. The price is $19.56 for the 100 pack of Fed "Multi-Purpose" 12ga. I have no good reason why I put $10.54 down. I would have flat lined my credit card at that price myself. Sorry for the typo. Dang!

Secondly, $10.54 for 100 rounds??? As in $2.63 if you had bought them by the 25 round box? If that's the case, tell me which one you go to, I'm always up for getting shotgun ammo for the same price as match .22lr!

Hmmm. Just bought 3 of the 100 packs of Fed "Multi-Purpose" 12ga loads[$10.54 ea.], everything looks the same. Except prices area bit lower, which is always good.

Like I said in the original post, all shotgun is still there as it always has been. It's just the locked glass cabinet with pistol/rifle ammo that's gone.

Interesting thoughts, thank you. I guess I assumed they would stop selling but since they are FFL holders in every other state would it be worth it to deal with the paperwork to do it here.

The other side of the coin is this: Are you willing or able to wait for 45 minutes if you don't come at the exact right moment in the day to 1) get an employee 2) wait for that employee to get the right employee 3) get said employee to open the cabinet, and 4) be prepared to wait an additional __ minutes for their system to crash and reinitialize once the NICS check is initiated?

They'll still have the best prices, but will the hassle that often comes with the territory be worth the price since everyone will be doing massive purchases to save on background check fees.

If they are an FFL in free states, why would you think they would not do so for ammo here?

our local is totally other way around .. it used to nice picking up shotshells off the shelves w/o waiting for workers . now they lock everything up

My walmart moved the ammo one or two isles but still has it.

so far 2 different walmart store managers have told me walmart will continue to sell ammo in california. as for the op, just ask the store manager about the case.

Although, I'm sorta expecting Wal Mart to stop selling ammo after January 1 due to record keeping and background checks.

Parkway Plaza and Grossmont Wal Marts in El Cajon and La Mesa still have their locked ammo cabinets.

It probably depends on location . Hi or low volume sales . I kind of expect them to stop selling ammo .
They will probably move what they have to a hi volume sales area to dump what they have .
