Range Brass Picking

Any range that wont let me pick up my OWN brass is a range I simply do not go to. i havent had that problem except one time. It woudlnt of been so bad wxcept the guy told me AFTER i paid and was already shooting. So i took a box of Wolf ammo from the bottom of my bag and shot that. I also swept the brass s far away as i could. Went to use the restroom and didnt flush either. havent been back there since. that was a few years ago. i dont reload but I do recycle the brass

LAMO did you shoot at the frames to? I pick my brass up and ask people if I can have theirs, sometimes Ill share the secrete of reloading, but not often. I feel bad for the guys who live by ranges operated by Nazis.

BTW, for any Cal Gunner that lives in SD and does not reload their .40/.45/.223 and .308 brass, save it and hook up a brother with some of that brass. Thank you in Advance.

I've heard horror stories about the ranges near me, yet I haven't witness anything abnormal.

That is a good idea to mark your brass. I always pick up mine, and never have a problem, though it would make things a little easier if I started marking it.

Most indoor ranges today have contracts with metal recyclers, so they won't allow you to pick up brass unless you can show that it is your own. That is also why MANY won't let you shoot CCI Blazer or Wolf...the recycler requires them to separate that stuff out themselves.

Mark the end of your brass with a sharpie. That way, you can demonstrate that you are picking up only your own brass.

I just started doing that...my wife thought I was being weird...we'll see how weird I am when I'm saving $$$ reloading.

I shoot there a lot and they are all really cool about stuff.

Just let the guys at Jackson Arms know you are going to pick up your brass before you go in.

It also helps if you sweep up the area before you start shooting in order to make it clear what you are picking up. But it's really no sweat either way.

I have picked up my brass several times while shooting there.

What ranges (indoor and outdoor) in the Bay Area are cool about you picking up your own brass? I just started getting into reloading and have heard a few horror stories. Is there a certain type of ettique to follow (other then taking someone elses brass )
