7.62 x 39 ammo that is not magnetic

I was about to buy some ammo on ammoman.com

Is Wolf is a steel core, copper jacket, so it is still magnetic?

Golden Tiger says it is lead core, so not magnetic, any comments?

I don't want to end up with a bunch of ammo i cannot shot a the Angeles Range.

    YES

    IT IS

The only non mag 7.62 I have found was the wolf copper (yellow and black box) that Turners used to sell. That dried up a year ago, and Wolf confirmed they would not be producing it ever again. FF to the last gun show and every ammo vendor is selling crates of it. Guess they found the hidden stash.

Other than that, WWB is non mag, and I think that's it.

You think 7.62 x 39 is hard to shoot at these ranges, try 5.45 x 39.

Some Wolf is not magnetic.. I forgot, but I think Wolf Military Classic is not magnetic at all... Some lead core will still be magnetic if the jacket is bi-metal or steel. So lead core doesn't automatically mean not magnetic. Best bet is to ask AmmoMan or wherever you're buying if they can test for you. Big names such as Fiochhi (sp?) are not magnetic, but cost more then Wolf or Golden Tiger... It shouldn't be hard for the vendor to quickly test a single round if they aren't already sure.

Ammo Brothers in Cerritos has or had Wolf in the yellow and Black box.

Wolf military Classic is Bi-Metal jacket and Angeles won't let you shoot it.

Lytle Creek will let you shoot it.

I got some of the Yugo stuff from sportsmans guide and it is non-magnetic... and it is corrosive. No free lunch I guess.

Does anyone know of any other ranges in the LA area that will let you shoot Woolf steel case ammo? I will be moving there shortly from Texas and have quite a bit of it that I would hate to have to leave here.

With the current political climate, I would highly suggest that you gather up reloading and casting supplies.

I can honestly state that handloaded ammo is superior.

My own 7.62x39 loads feature 150g NBT, Speer SP, Remington Core-Lokt and 160g cast. They are accurate and hard hitting, far better than store bought.
