    computer dead or not?

    i have a lenovo computer.....tower s10 series
been having intermittent problems with video..........3 nvideo graphics cards installed.

all of a sudden the computer wont post. the fans spin but the computer does not post. i undid the main power connection and there are burn marks on 2 pins..........does this mean that just the power supply is the prob or could the motherboard be affected as well?

when i remove all the pci cards and the memory nothing happens still......no beep code.......just spinning fans

Easiest way to tell is with another power supply, IF you have one handy...

I have seen sparks shoot out of power connectors with cheapie power supplies (lit-up the place like small lightning) to the mainboard connections, and it ran for years later... after putting a good power supply in it.

well, turns out after playing for 6 hours that i had a bad stick of RAM. looked perfectly fine.....how ever i am concerned about the yellowing on 2 of the 24-pin connectors.....not sure if it is a big deal.......too much heat?......kind of a dark yellow but not brown. might that be caused by the MB or the PS?........OR both

See if any caps are leaking around it and spewed onto it?

One of the solder connection on a chip of the module, is it?
I don't think I have ever seen that, aside form a short, but that usually black and brown burn marks in the cases I have seen, but I have never seen that on RAM yet...
