        Display Screen saver settings.
Wait so many minutes before screensaver comes back on ? move the mouse or press keys and screensaver is off

WTF, it shouldn't lock the screen while a video is playing.

If you right click on the desktop -> personalization -> lock screen -> screen timeout

theres a bunch of crap in there that might be relevant

....I am making progress....i think. the item is called "dynamic lock". i still havent fixed it. the are so many toggles in the dynamic lock menu. the dynamic lock toggle in my menu is not checked, and i am usure what else to do.

i experienced what OP describes too but it's rare. i thought it's the app i'm using and somehow doesn't quite always link to windows settings to adhere to it. i think it was Video LAN player but it's rare.
