FYI: We've got a job opening in my group at work for a "Systems Programmer": https://irecruitportal.ucr.edu/irecr...d=&module=jobs
Job Description: https://irecruitportal.ucr.edu/irecr...d=201606037821
The core focus of the job role is Identity Management. As far as "Systems Programmer", it is generally accurate because you're not going to be writing enterprise applications, but more of within the context of systems/services/application integration and DevOps type work.
As long as you can code decently, understand APIs, and are capable of integrating data flows being different systems, you're set.
Anyway, just posting this here since there's enough tech people here and I have a vested interest in getting someone to fill this position because it means I can roll off of handling Identity Management tasks. I'm not IdM, but I've been helping handle a lot of it because I know our IdM infrastructure.
