I sit in my recliner nightly reading Kindle books on my Fire HDX 3rd generation. After reading I like to surf the net. I was unhappy with the Safari browser, so I installed Firefox over a year ago and it has worked well. I use CC Cleaner to purge net data and run virus checks regularly. I am only 15 ft away from my Comcast wireless modem and my Settingstool shows good connectivity and speed.
In spite of this, I am now having problems with slow downloads and general web interface. I do hard reboots but they no longer seem to help as much as before. I have disabled most apps that I dont use including gps, video, etc. My web searching shows this is a common issue but all of the fixes are for older Kindles and the options and tools for those fixes aren't even on my unit. I have thought of installing Dolphin, but I don't think the browser is the problem since Firefox was working we until a month or so ago. When things are really slow, my iPhone browser still zips along feeding off the same wi fi.
Any thoughts?
