    I support LEO's even though...

With all of the negative media attention towards police including anti police statements made by racists Congressional black caucus ( you got me on why we need them) I want to publicly state I saw this divide coming for years especially with laws such as the NDAA being shoved down our throats in the name of safety and the race baiters like Sharpton spewing racial division. I have witnessed bad attitudes by some LEO's during my course of business and personal dealings as well. We have allowed them to become militarized instead of the old "to protect and serve" mentality. I sympathize and support our Police during this nation wide farce about race. They are getting a bad deal right now, I hope at the least some LEO'S will reaffirm their oath to uphold and defend the U.S. Constitution and start by siding with the good guys. We support them and by the looks of things they will be needing our support. Gun owners make up a large part of the country, with all of the anti gun Rhetoric this may be a good time for our LEO's to start supporting our freedoms more openly...I encourage all current serving LEO's, military and those retired to visit Oathkeepers.org you don't have to join although that would be great, more important is that each individual LEO and military service members, current serving and retired need to step up and take responsibility for keeping their oaths.

I believe in stated oath I took. Not in your agenda though.

Same here. I will add this: I'm retired. After 10 years in the military and 20 as an LEO, I no longer consider myself bound by oaths taken during my active careers.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

OP good on you. Every LEO and military personnel should be a member.

I'm curious about #2 of your Declaration Of Orders. We conduct warrantless searches every day under certain circumstances. You can't be serious if you think your LEO members aren't or haven't done so.

I thought this was going to be one of those "you finish the sentence" type of threads....

              "I support LEO's even though... "

It would have been much more interesting thread IMO, OP.

While it's interesting to hear this OP, I believe they should have always been on board, not because they need more allies, but because it's right. (they will gain allies)

This country is going down hill at a alarming rate, and in every direction.

It would be prudent for LEO's to at least fight back (by voting pro 2A / pro Constitution) against the backward thinking American is now traveling...

There is no doubt that a certain % of LEOs really aren't suited to be in LE. Also certain practices need to be re-examined and certain accountability needs be held which is often not met.

I dont think everybody needs to start every post with "I respect the police but..." its obvious that 95% of people do...You can still have concerns and criticisms of LE and still have respect for them.
