          It would of probably caved in had I shot it somemore with the WASR but that gun was just too loud. Didnt want to disturb everyone in the valley.

            hhmmm Great idea, especially after pumpkins go on sale after Halloween, they do make great targets.. I need to plan an after Halloween shoot.

            Looks like ya'll had fun and I love the way the rounds echo in the forest.

                  actually every round I fired except for the handgun were hollow points. The pumpkins are hollow inside so its hard for them to blow up. A watermelon would of been better.

                    The best way to obliterate pumpkins (and the most fun way to use them as targets) is to punch a hole in the top and fill it with water from a jug. The hydrostatic shock makes the pumpkin explode when it is short, especially with a shotgun slug or high power rifle round. Without the water, the pumpkin just absorbs the punishment and gets punched with holes....not much of a spectacle and not a very reactive target either.
