I did a 10 mile hike on blm in the middle of the desert with loaded AR/Glock last Saturday. Shot durring the hike too. Not a soul in any direction for miles.

      No black helicopters to report.

Just make sure your on blm, and aren't on someone's private property.

If the campsite does not prohibit the possession of firearms, it is legal.

          Penal Code 26055
Nothing in Section 25850 shall prevent any person from having a loaded weapon, if it is otherwise lawful, at the person's place of residence, including any temporary residence or campsite.

I sleep in my jeep while out in the Borego desert. Yes, I'm armed, loaded and ready.

Too many two legged coyotes running about in the southern desert not to.

I don't know about that. Maybe they have BLM Police doing 4:00 A.M. loaded weapons check.

                  Thanks for any help,
