OP needs to come back and finish the story.
    - Did you curse him out?
    - Did you beat his ***?
    - Did he get kicked out?
    - All of the above?

I'd still throw that glock downrange though. Better yet.... have a 12ga handy, throw it and play "skeet".....

Who starts a thread like this, then doesn't reply? WTF!
Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.

West End is a well run club and range. The fees keep most but not all the yayhoos out. The main range RSOs seem to do a good job on walking the line before anyone goes down range and watching the line while folks are down range. I've seen them quibble with folks that should know better but were not following range rules.

Dude, glad you are OK and still have all your toes! Public ranges are dangerous places. Some of us have to shoot at them, at least sometimes due to location and distance from BLM or Forest Service land. I have been muzzle-swept so many times I have lost count.

Closest I ever came was when a guy at an indoor range accidentally spilled an entire box of 45 acp on the floor. Somehow, one primer must have hit another case just right and the round went off. Bullet bounced of my ears and left a mark, but no injury. Glad round went off outside of a chamber so very little velocity.

Even LEOs have gun accidents in their locker rooms, they either shoot themselves in the leg or foot or another LEO. There is no substitute for care and caution.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong...

Guys, there is no doubt. it is target masters. That range attracts these kinds of fools. The shooter in question probably packed up his glock next to the .223 rifle he was shooting a moment before (TM does not allow 223), then left.

When you charge the lowest price and have the longest hours that extend late into the night, this is kind of result you have to expect.

Glad that you're ok, but I have a serious question:

Can the trigger be pulled and a round will fire off when the slide is locked back on Glocks? Or will the slide automatically unlock (release) when the magazine is inserted?

irrelevant. The purpose of the story was to tell us how he almost got shot in the foot, not give you the finer details of the other shooter, whether he was left handed, had long hair, wearing sandals, shooting bullseye or zombie targets, and incidentally every little tiny step he followed right before almost shooting our poster in the foot.

I think it's a valid question because if you read the OP's sequence of events he doesn't say anything about the guy dropping the slide, so if you take it verbatim it could give the impression that he pulled the trigger with the slide locked back.

With all due respect, I see his question as much more relevant than "whether he was left handed, had long hair, wearing sandals, shooting bullseye or zombie targets"

I am a little curious why it matters that he was wearing a camo baseball cap.

I'm not familiar with any BLM areas near you, but I'd suggest at least looking into it.
That is exactly my sitrep; I explain this to all my military buddies too. The desert or bust.

I went to a range in Rancho recently out of necessity, I had no other option, a buddy and his wife were in need of immediate basic firearms weapons safety instruction.
