    Someone educate me on Angeles

I sent the following email to them and never got a reply. None of hte questions I aksed were answered on thier website, and I'd prefer to have everything I need when/if I decide to go shoot there.

I've spent a lot of time going over your site, and see that you have a lot of metal set up on some ranges. My question is, what targets (if any) do I need to bring? I'd be shooting pistol out to maybe 20 yards or so, and rifle out to 100 yards or so (I saw you had steel out at the longer ranges). Would I need to bring my own targets (or buy them form you guys when I'm there) for shooting at that range, and if so are there any restrictions as far as type (steel, paper, cardboard) not already listed on your site (no recognizable people, bowling pins, etc.).

Also, with regard to ammo, for my AR I'd be using Federal 223 FMJ rounds, for my 10/22 I have CCI Stinger HP rounds. For my pistols, I'd like to try out some JHP rounds. Can you confirm that those are acceptable for use on your range?
It was not a threat. It was an exaggerated response to an uncompromising stance. I was taught never to make a threat unless you are prepared to carry it out and I am not a fan of carrying anything. Even watching other people carrying things makes me uncomfortable. Mainly because of the possibility they may ask me to help.

As I recall Angeles will provide a target frame with several paper targets, for a small fee. When the PVC frame is returned intact they refund the deposit. On the rifle side you can set the paper targets out to 200 yards weekends and 300 yards on weekdays. They have 4x4s with holes drilled to place their targets into.

I have also observed some shooter have brought their own frames and targets to be set out.

I know they do not want steel core bullets. Never had them check my reloads, which include JHP and HP.
May I always be the type of person my dog thinks I am

On the rifle side, they might let you set steel targets at the 100 yard line but not closer. Just bring some paper targets, a stapler and use one of their target holders. I don't play on the pistol side because, I can shoot out to 100 at home so, there's no need for me to do it there. As long as the projectile does not attract a magnet and it's CA legal ammo, it's fine to shoot there.

check all your ammo with a magnet. if the bullets have steel in them you can not shoot it there. you rent the target frames. i built my own. its just PVC.
you can supply your own targets. steel on both ranges already. i dont see HP being a problem. they only check for steel bullets. do not take your weapons into the store. pay first and go get your guns.
        have fun
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

Bring your own paper targets if you like, or buy them there for more money. Rent a stand for $4, or bring your own(Ive seen PVC and Wood). I think they allow RIMFIRE targets closer than 100 yds, but they must be marked for rimfire only so they dont get blasted by centerfires.

All the ammo you mentioned is GTG, just as long as it doesnt attract a magnet
