plastic amber 'scription bottles and spice jars for ammo?

I'm think the old prescription bottles with "Medically approved" sealing caps should be good for ammo, and completely water/moisture proof. Typical 'scription bottle seems about right for a few rifle rounds, but also OK for a clip's worth of handgun ammo. They'd be the top of line, but anyone like using other re-used plastic (food) containers?

I have some quart sized take out containers with lids I got from the local Mexican place. I use them for my “bulk” pistol reloads (range ammo). They’re sturdy, semi flexible and seal well enough that nothing gets out til I pry the top loose.

I started using large prescription medicine bottles for bulk 22lr rounds. So far so good. I can throw them in the range bag without worrying about the bulk pack boxes opening and spilling.

Like the above poster above said the really tall prescription bottles are really great for .22lr. They can hold 175 rounds each enough for a range trip. If you need more you can bring the ones that are same size around as the big ones as they hold about half as many. I think those hold about 80 so about 250 round for both combined.

They're good for a lot of things...

I have a couple in my range bag. One holds four sets of squishy ear plugs. The other holds an assortment of Alan Keys, a magnetic bullet button thingy for shooting in free states, and a couple miscellaneous parts like a tiny little takedown pin for a couple of my 1911's.

Geez, what kind of horse pills are you guys taking where the bottle can hold 175 rds of .22lr? My bottles are go for 50 or 60 rounds tops.

That’s actually a pretty clever idea! I’ve used old prescription bottles for small parts and screws, but never thought about using them for ammo. They’re tough, have decent seals, and are usually just lying around anyway. I’ve also reused things like Tic Tac containers or spice jars for .22 rounds or loose brass—works in a pinch.

Not for ammo, but I use the container from the Costco peanut butter pretzels to hold brass.
                  Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Talenti Gelato is a standard around our house. When it’s gone you’re left with water-proof, clear, screw-on lid jar; 3.25” inside diameter x 3.75” tall.

BULK: Nestles Chocolate containers (96 servings); sealable lid, hold about 500 rounds/shells (empties for reloading); BRIGHT YELLOW, markable with caliber on lid. 20=10k rounds.

That is so funny to hear, I use the same containers for .22lr. I thought I was the only one with Pistachio flavored .22 rounds.

Be careful with the Talenti Gelato containers if ever used in a self-defense situation. Those Italian jars would surrender in a flash.
