    Make this BM9 CA compliant

    Hello,

Please keep thread clean and informative. No personal opinions outside of the subject matter below

Took this out for what I thought was a final day of steel target shooting at a local outdoor range but ended up having too much fun.

Currently in a free state but moving to Patterson/Manteca area in 4 weeks. Before I post it for sale I am
want to try and make this CA compliant IF POSSIBLE. Local gunnie has agreed to weld the mini can flash hider and block these happy sticks down to 10 rounds.

Brigade BM9 AR pistol chambered in 9mm with 5.5 inch barrel

Educate me on anything else I would need to do, primarily with the sig tac brace/ SBR rules and anything else I should be aware of.

Definitely needs to be maglocked, go with the Hogue Freedom Fighter kit and takedown pin of your choice. I use the Juggernaut pin with a mil spec bolt catch and filed the Hogue pin down so that I can release the mag with the bolt locked back. That's the best scenario I've come across and easy to remove the pin with an Allen key if you ever go back to a free state. Hopefully someone else can chime in on whether it needs to be a single shot, I know if you were to buy an AR Pistol it would come as a single shot and would require a new upper to make it semi-auto again

Hogue Freedom Fighter does involved drilling into the receiver, but the included jig makes it a very simple process. I was hesitant as well, but watched a couple of Youtube videos and it was very easy after that. 3 pins are included so you could do three guns with one kit, by far the most cost effective solution in addition to being the least clunky.

Thanks for the heads up, dimensions are same as EPC-9 so that will work. Had to look all this up but it seems to be pretty straight forward. Once this is done will flash hider need work or can I run as is?

Thanks for the info, I do however need some clarification. If I was to declare this as a receiver without the upper wouldn't I still need the maglock and pin in order to use? I'd hate to be the bad apple going to an outdoor range with a setup that isn't welcome

You do need to drill and tap a hole for the hogue freedom fighter's mag release button blocking pin.
The drill jig that comes with the Hogue works for standard 5.56 lowers but will not properly locate the hole for an EPC-9.
I worked out the dimensions on exactly where to drill for EPC-9 lowers and the hogue freedom fighter works great on them.
I can drill/tap an EPC-9 lower for the hogue freedom fighter system while you wait if you get the Hogue refill kit and come over to my shop.
