River City Gun Exchaneg and J&G guns in Granite Bay have the LARGEST used gun inventory...

    anyone know better?

I have bought a few very good deals in those places..also a new one is Lincoln Gun exchange- smaller shop but I did find a sweet Ishapore 2a... IS there anything better then magazine fed bolt action 7.62 nato?

        Sorry for the mega post.

I think that River City Gun Exchange has the best selection of used guns that I know about.

        *******

This is the best FFL finding tool I've seen online, as far as I can tell they're pretty up to date: * * **http://fflgundealers.net/

They list everyone, shops, kitchen table FFLs, Big 5, even Aerojet has an FFL

An easy Google search will lead you to all the online sites.

        Sacramento Area Gun Shops

        River City Gun Exchange
        2370 Fruitridge Road
        Sacramento, CA
        (916) 428-0377

Favorite Sac gun shop. Very Black Rifle Friendly, lots of consignments, knowledgeable staff. *Closed Sundays and Mondays, usually crowded, bring your patience with you. *Usually has an ad in the Sac Bee. ****** *"Knowledgeable staff, but the reps' patience level can vary depending on who you get. They like to share knowledge, but some of the staff get annoyed by "dumb" questions. Black gun friendly and knowledgeable about 922r. They have some used firearms. Prices of the new stuff is slightly below anybody else in the area, but the used stuff seems high." ****** *"Had good experiences with them for a consignment gun."

        Just Guns
        3538 Auburn Blvd
        Sacramento, CA 95821
        916-486-4867

Opened a year and a half ago, big open shop, helpful staff. *I like the store, haven't bought a gun there yet. ****** *"Just Guns - I PPT there, they are very fair and have a great layout. They are friendly to black rifles but I don't recall any in stock or on display." * ***** *"Customer was better when they first opened. Now, it's a crapshoot too. Selection is okay, but I expect them to increase as the business picks up. The last time I was there, about a month ago, they added a black rifle section and a gunsmith in the back. Prices are slightly higher than other shops that have been around a while."

        Norse Armory
10 North East Street STE #211
        Woodland, CA
        (530) 661-0900*‎

A newer gun store, active online at CalGuns, group sales, deal in any conceivable CA legal firearm, usually show up at local gun shows. *Good people. ****** *"I've never been to Norse's store in Woodland, but I've seen them at every local gun show and highly recommend checking them out. Good guys and they deal straight."

        Sacramento Black Rifle
        6671 Blue Oaks Blvd #
        Rocklin, CA
        (916) 771-3553*‎

A newer gun store, haven't been there, usually has an ad in the Sac Bee * ***** *"Sacramento Black Rifle didn't have their FFL yet when I last visited. (They have FFL now) If previous performance is any indication, they'll likely have a great selection of AR's. They've always been busy when I've gone in, even during the week." ****** *"Awesome guys with great guns. They had a location in Citrus Heights for a few years. Over there they had a few pistols and I think they were exclusively black rifle for long guns. Haven't been to their new location."

        TDS Guns
        4881 Granite Drive
        Rocklin, CA
        (916) 660-9091*‎

A newer gun store, haven't been there, usually has an ad in the Sac Bee ****** *"TDS Guns has a really good selection, brightly light and clean store. Staff are very approachable and are very involved in 2nd amendment issues. Always busy, but very well staffed." *"Another good shop, 5% off with a military ID. I haven't seen them not crowded, they have a good selection of handguns and rifles." * ****** *"Great customer service with the more mature reps. Big handgun selection, very good tactical rifle selection. Prices are good with hot-selling items. Knowledgeable staff, especially the more mature guys."

        Sportsman's Warehouse
        6640 Lonetree Boulevard
        Rocklin, CA
        (916) 782-9900*‎

Big, big box store. *Feels a little like Disneyland for outdoors people. *Big selection of firearms, friendly knowledgeable staff. ****** *"Sportsman's Warehouse is a box store, but this one tends to be more informed and friendly than many others, including Cabela's and BassPro. No OLL's and their stock really fluctuates. They've pulled some of the best gun salesmen away from their hunting store competitors and it shows in their customer service." *"They are more friendly than what you'd expect from a warehouse. They are much more hunter driven as they don't FFL for black rifles per company policy. I found some amazing ammo prices in their bulk pile. They also of a good assortment of reloading supplies." ****** * "I don't know what's up, but they had a bigger selection of handguns before. Now their handgun selection is about half and don't carry much of anything I would be interested in. They seem to be a sporting/hunting shop, therefore there are no black rifles. Knowledge of the reps vary greatly, but customer service is better on weekdays than weekends. Prices are slightly higher than Wild Sports, which is odd for being a chain store."

        The Gun Room
        9221 Survey Road
        Elk Grove,*California
        916-714-4867

Big, brightly lit shop, one of the only indoor ranges around. You can shoot handgun caliber rifles and shotguns. Big selection of guns. I've had good service there, but some on CalGuns have complaints. ****** *"Customer service is hit and miss, with most cases being a miss. Prices are higher than others, but they do have a big selection. I go there to handle guns then shop around for a better price. I don't believe they sell any more black rifles."

        Wild Bill's
        10490 E Stockton Blvd # 150
        Elk Grove, CA
        (916) 686-7699*‎

Small shop, lots of Western / SASS sort of stuff, used leather holsters and belts. *Big local NRA supporter. *Just a block away from The Gun Room. * *******"Wild Bill's carries a LOT more than just cowboy stuff now. He's got stuff on the wall I wouldn't expect to see in an average California gun store. Branden's store is the only reason I'm willing to drive through Elk Grove anymore. They're not condescending towards women either, which is a very big deal to me." * ***** *"Good customer service. Prices are average. They have one of most things, but not a whole lot of one thing. If you want to straight-up sell a firearm and not deal with consignment, this would be the place -- he gives the best prices."

        Buy*Sell Trade It All
        5725 Stockton Blvd
        Sacramento, CA 95824
        916 456 7296

Little old pawn shop, I think it's the only pawn shop around that buys and sells guns. *(Speak up if you know of another one). *They sell new guns as well as pawns. *Occasionally find good deals.

        Broadway Bait, Rod and Gun
        1701 Broadway
        Sacramento, CA
        (916) 448-6338*‎

Small, crowded, lots of fishing gear and shotguns. *Guys in camo with dead ducks.

        Guns and Stuff
        5060 Roseville Road
        North Highlands, CA
        (916) 334-3209*‎

Tiny shop, lots of fishing gear, gun counter at the back. *I've only ever seen the owner and his wife working there and they're good people to talk to. *

        Cordova Shooting Center
        11551 Douglas Road
        Rancho Cordova, CA
        (916) 351-0538*

Big outdoor range, small gun shop, nice people.

        Action Guns
        2301 Vehicle Dr # E
        Rancho Cordova, CA
        (916) 631-9002*‎

Haven't been there. ****** *"Action Guns and Ammo, Rancho Cordova, $60."

        Rancho Cordova Guns and Ammunition
        1951 Zinfandel Drive
        Rancho Cordova, CA
        (916) 635-7214

Nice looking shop. ****** *"If I'm looking for a new or good used gun,*they've been VERY good to me for almost 20 years."

        Pacific Extreme Sports / IWE
        1313 N Market Blvd #120
        Sacramento, California*
        (916) 646-3474

Tiny fishing gear shop with a gun counter at the back.

        Elkhorn Bait and Tackle
        6745 20th Street
        Rio Linda, CA
        (916) 991-5298*‎

Crowded, lots of fishing gear, lots of gun, staff was not real friendly the couple of times I've been in. * ***** *"Cocky but knowledgeable staff. Crowded. Years ago, he gave me a discount without me even asking when I went back for a 3rd firearm. Prices are right around MSRP. I don't recall seeing any black rifles."

        Wild Sports
        9396 Greenback Lane
        Orangevale, CA
        (916) 988-5375

Big store, half hunting, half fishing. *Really big gun selection, sometimes has good ammo sales. *I've bought a couple of guns there and they were just fine to deal with. *Some CalGunners have posted complaints. * *******"I've been there multiple times over the years. I know they've been around at least 15 years. They are more driven towards hunters but they usually have an SA M1A and the occassional SOCOM II. If you know what you want and what you are talking about they tend to be friendlier, but even then it is hit and miss. The last time I was there they were being inspected so I didn't hang around too long." ****** * "As someone already said, they have become cocky as they have been in business for some time now. I still find some reps to be friendly in the handgun and shotgun area. Prices for in-stock items can be lower than other shops, however they will not give prices over the phone. Selection is just a little above average, but they are not black rifle friendly."

        Toro Arms
        424 Main St*
        Woodland, CA 95695*
        Phone: 530-908-6780*

Haven't been in the store, small shop on Main street. ****** *"I need to add a little to Toro Arms. Great people there. I was running out of time and ran in the store 15 minutes before they closed. They allowed me to get through my paper work and start my 10 day wait even though I wasn't finished until 10 minutes after closing. They then told me what the end of my 10 days would be and then mentioned to call before I leave to pick it up so someone could hang around after closing so I could come in to pick it up. This was very generous considering they are open the next morning." ****** *"DROS plus $25."

        J and G Guns
        7680 Barton Road
        Granite Bay, CA
        (916) 782-7075

Haven't been there. ****** *"J and G are a great consignment store. It's been six months since I've visited and they didn't carry OLL's at all, but if you want older domestic firearms they are THE place to go in Sac Metro." ****** *"I talked to a few people from J&G at the Big Reno Show in '09. They were really helpful and nice. Haven't made it over to their store yet."

Ok a quick review by category.

Selection, a toss up between river city and wild sports.
Tacticool stuff, sac black rifle, employees can be esoteric at times. TDS is also tacticool also has a good selection.
Price, discount shooters supply, these guys are my first stop as they have a good selection of reloading supplies and the prices are right primers are 30.00 for 1k and powders range from $16 to $19 a lb. They just started carrying guns so they inventory there isn't the best. Just guns is right around the corner from me and I drive past them and twice the distance to go to dss better service better prices.

            End rant.

No argument from me. Good prices and yes they are selling used too. Besides they are 5 minutes from me. Wonder if they still have that sig 1911 for 700ish.

thanks everyone, i'm envy of sac gun shops.Fresno shops SUCK!. I went to the gun shop/range off of grantline in elk grove and then wild bills. Either shop had more firearms on display than all the shops in Fresno combined(literally!) I even bought a Draco at wild bills. I think ill buy up here from now on since i come up once every 4-6 weeks for work
