Is there a database for the HSC?

Why do you want the govt to have another way to track gun owners? How about advocating doing away with a passive infringement instead of stockpiling personal information to be used by nitwits, halfwits, retards, and felons (i.e., gov't workers)?I went and started my 10 days on a G34 on Sunday but I ended up leaving my HSC at home and had to pay ~$25 to get a new one. I was thinking it would be a lot easier if there was just a database the FFL could query instead of just relying on a piece of paper.
It would be better for them because they wouldn't need to deal with the cards anymore or worrying about running out.
It would be better for us because we don't have to worry about bringing or losing the card.
I know I'd pay an extra $3 or so to never have to worry about the card again. What do you guys think?NRA Certified Rifle Instructor

Alright guys, let me make this clear because I think you're getting the wrong impression of me here. I was just throwing an idea out there and I'm not pursuing it any further.
Obviously the perfect solution would be to have the test completely go away. That's also very unlikely to happen.
Yes if the information was in a database then it would be another list we're on. To assume that we already aren't though I think is ridiculous. Sales are recorded, information is recorded, and since the police can look up the serials and whatnot anyways it's obvious they have the information. The point was if they already have all the information - and know already that we have guns - tacking a * onto the file that we have the HSC as well wouldn't be that big of a deal.Comment

None of that information is available to dealers.
DROS (handguns, assault weapons .50 cal rifles) information is only available to law enforcement.
There is no data base of long guns period. (rifles and shotguns)Poke'm with a stick!

I'm not concerned with what Info dealers have, what concerns me is what info our politicians have. I have several friends and family members that are LEO in several parts of the state and country. I know that for the most part the officers that we encounter day to day are good people, I DON'T trust many of their superiors though. Fortunately, there's a lot of discretion left up to the officers on the street.R.I.P. Chris Kyle. 2/2/13Comment

is not the subject mater of this thread. Read the O/P post. It's about HSC cards. Not about you trusting anyone.
I replied to alpalwal's question about data bases.Poke'm with a stick!
