Steel Core Surplus ammo

Hey all. This site has so much info that I find myself addicted. Anyway, I am the proud new owner of an Izzy m44, and recently purchased some surplus Hungarian Silver Tip light ball to shoot out of it. I usually go to Los Altos Rod and Gun for trap shooting, but I've seen conflicting reports of whether they allow steel core FMJ surplus rounds. If anybody shoots surplus or knows if its allowed at Los Altos, Metcalf, or Laguna Seca please let me know.
