    Arizona shooting

So it comes out that the maniac in the recent Arizona shootings used a Glock 19 with a 33-round mag. (reported as 31 -round mags incorrectly.)
How do you think this wacko's actions will affect gun legislation in one of the most free gun law states?

It won't affect it at all.

The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the ones who apply the first dressing.

Anytime a wacko goes nuts and does something like this there is always talk of stricker gun laws. The anti's feast on these types of things. It may not change too much in AZ but it will be the main topic of discussion in many other states.Very sad for all.

I disagree. There are a few AZ pro2A bills that still need sponsors. This tragedy will make it difficult for any new bills to move forward this year.

While many people think AZ is a free state, there are still many gun laws on the books that need to be eliminated.

It's just plane sad, the whole situation. For the loss of innocent life and jerkwads like the shooter that cripple the rights of others due to their actions. It's ashame the crime was commited at all, especially with a firearm this really hurts us right in our 2A. If this was of any other nature, say with a sword, a sling shot or a bow, it would be written off.

problem is, it takes a lot more skill to hit with one arrow than to fire off 33 rounds of "9 milly"

Tragedies like this one always provide fodder for the anti-gun zealots. It was really disappointing to see the Sheriff talking about how some people are tearing the country apart, a thinly disguised jab at talk radio it appears.

Well at least this ends the debate on the effectivness of the Glock19.

This is going to hurt our RKBA cause big time. I think many of the pending CA cases we are all waiting for will be harmed by this incident.
How did this terrible thing happen? All I've been hearing for the last 10 years is that Arizona is like gun-disneyland, that everyone is packing and if anyone fired a shot in anger they'd get 100 right back at em. WTF?! Wasn't there anyone there there who could have stopped this pot-head psycho loser with a well placed shot to the 10-ring? Why wasn't there at least one cop there for an event involving a member of congress? Wasn't there anyone with some executive protection training to scan the crowd for anyone acting odd?
This horrible event is going to be about as bad for us RKBA fans as BP's oil rig blowing-up and sinking in the Gulf last summer was for the oil industry.
I'll bet soon we'll have to get a Psych Evaluation before your allowed to buy a firearm in CA, maybe nation wide.
