Good legal advice- if building a Sten semi kit, strip the FA bolt, and toss it in the trash. Keep the extractor- you'll need it. The FA bolt is otherwise worthless, as is the spring, unless you have Class III friends. I sent mine to my uncle in NC to give his buddy who owns a transferrable Sten 
Again, the build looks and seems easy- sure, it's cutting a few holes, and doing a few simple welds. The design is still inherently dangerous, and you will need MAJOR tuning to get the kit to feed worth a damn.
I can't say if the new kits are any better...
