If they sold targets that scream in pain as they take rounds, I'd be the first in line to buy them.

This is what happens when you allow just anyone to practice junk psychology and pass it off as expertise. People nowadays don't need humanoid targets to "desensitize" them to violence against other human beings. Pop culture and the media has done a more than adequate job in that arena.

I guess these wouldn't be PC enough for some ranges.

I was 15 when I first shot something other than a .22 at Scout Camp.

The guns in question were a 92Fs and a Kimber. We shot mostly at silhouettes. I never became a crazed killer because I shot a a blue outline.

Laguna Seca is managed by the Monterey County Parks system, so it's a govt.-run and taxpayer-funded operation. I don't see a problem with a rule that prevents the surrounding, highly-liberal, mostly non-shooting population with more "ammo" to close the place down. Believe me, it's a small price to pay!

Where would you go if L.S. shuts down? And how inconvenient would that be (relative to the "no human form targets" rule)?

Funny thing is, there's a police range about 50 yards up the hill that's part of Laguna Seca, and those guys can shoot humanoid targets all they want.

                  Exactly.

No, I won't boycott the place--but I think the whole issue is rather lame.

Totally, no argument there. But I understand the reasoning behind it.

Yes, it is well known that the US Army practices junk psychology and can't train soldiers to shoot. That's why they were defeated so soundly in Iraq & Afghanistan.

                      Heh, heh. Batter up.

The US Army isn't teaching psychology when our soldiers are learning to shoot. They are teaching marksmanship and combat skills. Very different things. Or did you fail to take advantage of the GI Bill and get yourself a college education so you can actually learn to support your unfounded arguments?

We don't have this problem in Arizona. Were all Politically incorrect. Makes it real easy here.

Right. Thanks for continuing the personal attack. That is exactly what people of no intelligence and great animosity do because they have no skills to cope with perceived threats. It's called an ad hominem attack. Stupid people confuse this imbecilic strategy and attitude with reasoned debate. You haven't refuted any of the information I presented. You're merely proclaiming that something is "junk" because it doesn't conform to your small-minded prejudices does not make it so.

All you've presented is information that is unproven and was used as an attack on the other forum member's intelligence and knowledge. Perhaps you should look in the mirror before throwing around your accusations. Perhaps I'll consider refuting your speculations that's based on one link of some self proclaimed expert's opinion from some foreign military when you present some credible data.
