1000 yards at North Cow Mountain in Ukiah CA???

Does anyone know the distance of the rifle range at North Cow Mountain?

Someone at Circle S Ranch in Petaluma told me there was a spot to take it out to 1000 yards or maybe even beyond.

I did a little research and read elsewhere on the internet that the rifle range goes at least up to to 400 yards. I'm hoping to stretch the legs of my .338 Lapua and 400 yards is sort of....ehhh (yawn) for the .338.

BLM and other websites just mention that there's a shooting/marksmanship range available.

Are there places to go out to 1000(ish) at North Cow Mountain that aren't actually on the range? I read something about shooting from a water tower across a canyon but it was vague....anyone heard of that? What I'm trying to do is plink some steel at 800 to 1200 to 1400 yards (hell even more if the space is there ).

Would especially appreciate an answer from someone that's actually been out there and knows from seeing it for themselves but solid 2nd hand info will do if that's all I can get.

    Thanks in advance.

There are targets at 200, 300, 400 and some junk, or targets, a little farther than that. 1000 yards, I don't think so, not from the tables.

How bout elsewhere at N. Cow Mountain?

I read somewhere about a place with a water tower that people actually shoot off of but it was vague and didn't elude as to actually how far shots were. 2nd hand info.

There's no open 1000 yard shots anywhere at Cow Mountain that I am aware of.
