    Trade gun for rent?

So, I've been thinking about selling my Kel-Tec SU16CA in order to fund a project.

My landlord knows I'm thinking of selling it and just asked me if I would be interested trading it for rent. He would pay the transfer fees.
Apparently, he wants a rifle and his future father-in-law owns several SU16s and told him to get one as well.

So, should I trade it for rent or try and sell it for cash (i was thinking in the $480-500)?

Let's see, on one hand you would save a month's rent, on the other hand you would get $500 cash.

    Rent or $500 cash.

    Rent or $500 cash.

My rent is $1275 per month, so it is a no brainer.

If your rent is more than what the gun is worth then it should be a no-brainer!

What if your landlord doubles your rent the next month after the transfer?.

If you sell your gun to someone else, you may never see it again. If you trade i t to your landlord, you may still be able to visit it.

This thread is missing a key part of info. how much is your rent.

its like saying "Hey guys, this guy is offering to buy my gun, should i sell it?" and thats all.

Forgot to post how much rent is.
                  It's around $680.
I'm going to do the trade.
                  Thanks all.

Why can't I get a deal like that? My rent is 1100 a month. The cost of a Kel Tec could buy me a really nice AR.

I wonder if the bank will take one of my glocks in for the mortgage?

been doing that for the last few months, I'm just the middle man.

                        buyer --> me--> landlord.

Make sure you get a written receipt that your rent was paid in full for that month.

                          .

The trade sounds good, but consider it a reprieve from having to pay rent - accordingly you should use all that time making up for the trade. Save up as much as your rent cost if possible, or even more. Don't just sit idly by and let your trade go to waste, so to speak.

                              Good luck,
