I'm trying to think of any valid reason why one would need to walk up to a car draw your weapon, and fire - such the way this guy did.

I'm really racking my brains on this one, and I can't come up with any legitimate answer.
Truth be told - I think if this guy had a legit answer, he wouldn't be going through the motions with his face covered.

Some people take firearms safety too seriously. Know yourself, know your gun, and know your limits.

It seems to me he was demonstrating what a car jacking would look like from a passenger's/driver's perspective.

That's what I got from the video too. Do the setup first and then discuss what to do should you find yourself in a similar scenario.

His thick accent made it difficult for me to understand what he said in the beginning of the video, but the inside shots were pretty clear what the intent of the video was.
