I doubt the stolen handgun had anything to do with it. These delays are all random I just make all my purchases from an FFL that will release undeterred after it happens to me once I'm not about to turn the other cheek and have it happen again.

I got a call from my FFL on day 9 saying that my DROS was delayed. On 09/11 it will be 30 days since I got delayed. No prior criminal background, valid ccw holder, state license guard card and firearm permit holder. My FFL does not release on undetermined. Any suggestions whether I should try and re DROS if it goes to undetermined. Literally own several firearms and this has never happened to me. Purchase a shotgun 5 weeks prior to this delayed DROS for a handgun. I did have a handgun stolen 5 months prior to this DROS delay, could that possibly be the reason why it was delayed ?

They will likely not inform you of anything because they are likely not doing anything on it. In my case it was a brand new rifle. I had bought a few stripped lowers right before Covid hit and didn’t buy anything until this rifle. No tickets or anything in that time, just caught a delay for some weird reason. Only thing that changed is I used a new FFL because my old one tried to tell me a bolt action rifle wasn’t CA compliant.

I?d also never give the FFL that refused to release another dime of my business. It states right on the letter that they can, he?s simply helping the state with their scheme.

Yeah, I'll be avoiding these guys if this ends up being an undetermined situation and they won't release. Annoyingly there aren't any reliable dealers on the list close to me though, despite at least four stores in the area. (Burbank.)

One thing that did occur to me, I see people saying bridge tolls can be the reason and I did get the delay call about a week after crossing the Richmond Bridge and a day after crossing the Golden Gate, both without a Fastrak. (Was just vising family in the area so don't have one.) Never been a problem before, I just pay the invoices that come in the mail, but I wonder if that's what's holding things up and if it'll clear as soon as I pay them off. (Waiting on them to come in the mail.)

Oh yeah, I also got the delay letter and noticed that it seemed to say that it could be me or a possible stolen gun, and the gun in question was used, so I wonder if that's what it is. Anybody know if they'll give me a solid answer when the 30 days runs out if it turns out to be the gun's fault?

Dealer won't release on undetermined either, didn't even know to ask before but I guess I do now.

My latest 30 days is up and is "undetermined"
Glad I deal with an FFL that will deliver to me. It still irritates me I have a VAF UPIN number from the DOJ that the DOJ does not seem to recognize

If I’m not mistaken you CCW and guard card go through separate bureaus. That’s just crazy talk to think they’d be streamlined in any manner.

Will continue to happen until a class-action lawsuit is filed against Bonta and the DOJ.

I just got delayed again too for a .22lr pistol even though I literally just renewed my CCW two weeks ago as well as my state issued Security Guard card last month.

Info and applications on both of those credentials go to the same place that DROS info goes to…..CA DOJ. Last DROS for an Sig Xmacro went through in 10 days no issues. DROS before the Sig was delayed for a shotgun. The intentional hold up and flip flopping by the turds up in Sac DOJ only prompts me to buy more guns every time just to give them the finger and make them work. DOJ make great salesmen. Just gonna have to wait but in the end….I will receive my property.

    Thanks
About all I know about it is you have to keep it active every 90 days or something like that. Seems pointless if CA DOJ BOF can?t utilize it. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in.

Finally got approved on day 31, but it's safe to say that I won't be purchasing another firearm from Turners.
