Out of curiosity, can you post a photo of your rifle? I'm not sure how you can use wood from an AK-47 type rifle on an SKS type rifle.

^^^ Thanks - that looks good. Normally, "PAP" is a designation for the SKS, that's why there was confusion on my end.

Thank you. Zastava got tired of Century bungling the importation and they decided to form Zastava USA to handle the importation and compliance. They have been doing a great job. They are designating the M70 and M92 as ZPAP for some reason. I know there were NPAP and OPAP in the past.

That is very cool.I remember when the Balkan War AK furniture showed up a few years back. I ordered a bunch of it as it was relativly cheap, as I recall you could get three sets for $35 for underfolder handguards and something like $45 for 3 full Romanian AK sets.

Most were pretty junky, but occasionally you would get a gem or two. I put one of the Yugo trench art handguards on a M70AB underfolder and the best Romanian set on a 10/63.

Thanks to PojoJack and IVC!!! One of the most interesting threads and pieces of history I've read on CalGuns in years. Great work by PojoJack on the firearms. Gosh this was a great read.

It's quite a bit more complicated than that. History of that part of the world is ancient and if you're into it, a good starting point for Bosnia would be the Battle of Kosovo in 1389 which is how the Muslim population started in Bosnia. And 14th century is quite recent in terms of Balkans...

Of the three parties in the war I would say that Muslims got the short end of the stick, partly because there is no natural native "motherland" like there was for Serbs and Croats. But each party wanted to "defend themselves against the others." The problem was that each party also wanted "to grab just a bit of land that didn't really belong to them."
