Using QD on forearm with QD hole

Do you guys use the QD hole that's already drilled on your rail/handguard? Or do you order a dedicated QD mount? The reason I ask is because I've read that the QD holes on handguards aren't very strong and can possibly rip the aluminum due to how thin the metal is.
