Are the ranges busy or dead?

Trying to figure out if the shooting ranges are busier, with all these new firearm owners?
Or if the ammo shortage has kept people from being able to shoot or forced people to conserve?

Any actual observations? Indoor/outdoor/blm? (Angeles range specifically curious)

I am shooting .45 ACP more than 9mm now, as I reload .45 but not 9mm. It used to be cheap enough to buy 9mm.....

I have a lot of .45 bullets, brass, powder and LP primers.

My local indoor range is accessible. I’ve been averaging 3 times a month since September and had to wait for about 10 minutes just once, and that was because I brought a friend and our kids and we wanted side-by-side.

Seems normal to me. But I go at off times midweek. Mostly codgers working on hand loads.

Busy Wednesdays have me thinking the shortage isn't slowing things down...

My last couple of trips they were few shooters. These were in gunshop ranges. I think it's because of the lack of and high cost of ammo.

My BLM Outdoor range always has places to shoot. Sometimes it gets a little busy but that's fun because everyone lets everyone shoot a new toy Some SOB cost me $900 cause I went a bought a JM 625 ACP after I shot his

No change, gun "enthusiasts" are prepared for this.

Nor Cal Sac here, outdoor range, for some reason people show up during the weekdays now, with their kids....

I used to get about 2 hours to myself running drills into the range, now there's always someone else at first light and we can't shoot until everyone is set up.

went to burro and it looked just as busy as any typical weekend.

the ammo scarcity only affects the new gun owners, not the long timers who have hoards of ammo.

Busy. I usually have the rimfire range by myself whenever I go to WEGC, and the last few outings people have shown up while I was shooting.

I met coworkers at WEGC for some shooting in a private bay and more than half the bays were taken on a Monday.

Dropped by Livermore last week and yeah...it's slowing down. A LOT.

That's where I'll be going with my LPP, SPP, LRP, SPP and all of the above in mag drying up fast. Most of that will be untouched over the next few months until supply returns.

Shotgun primers OTOH...I'm good for a LOOONG while. Time now to cast slugs!
Anyway...here's a dearth of reasoning to ponder: http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Guns

looks normal, but I dont see people doing mag dumps as often as before

the ammo shortage does cause people to conserve ammo , even people that stocked up are holding back.
