No one was shot so it’s a lot less messy!
I personally wouldn’t shoot thru the door.
When I was 18 a man tried busting down my back door. My parents were traveling so it was me, my brother and my sisters. The man was really smashing at the door and I was shaking. I attempted to load a revolver that my father bough me but I was shaking too much to load the 38’s into the cylinder so I put it down and grabbed a baseball bat. My brother who was younger also grabbed his bat and we went back to the door. We turned the outside light on and thru the window we could see the man was my neighbor, drunk beyond any awareness and turns out he though his wife locked him out of their house. I was really glad that I couldn’t load the gun because I’d likely have shot my neighbor who meant no harm to us.
From that experience I personally would not shoot thru a door.
The capital police shot and killed the unarmed woman thru a door and he was justified??
Hopefully the home owner is free and clear of any charges or legal issues. It would be very terrifying to be inside waiting for the bad guy to enter! He said he had a misfire or accidental discharge or something like that which to me wasn’t clear in his story but I can understand that!
