If you chose to defend as a lone wolf, you will be picked apart by coyotes and rats.

An apartment complex occupied by an organized group and bristling with mundane shotguns and deer rifles would be far better off than a lone home with a single operator.

Three guns don't cover everything, but if I had ONLY that choice:

A scoped AR15, w/62gr 5.56 NATO rounds.
Single shot 12 ga.
Any reliable sidearm.

Alternative rifle? AK47, or an SKS.

If I shoot at ANYTHING past 200yds, it'll be for food.

As much as people brag, I've seen *VERY* FEW that can hit a moving target, 100-200 yards, or a STANDING target, past 300 yds.

^^^ just tip it over and use it as cover but make sure the door is facing you so that you can grab whatever is needed in any given situation.

I’d swap the 62 grain for 55 or 77. The M855 round is what led to the 77 grain OTM becoming the round of choice for the GWOT.

M855 just doesn’t fragment well. 55 grain M193 will fragment pretty reliably at around 2600 FPS. 77 grain OTM is superior to both obviously. But expensive if making a stockpile. M855 was created to penetrate a Soviet helmet at a certain distance. It tends to pass through rather than fragment.

M855 is better for barrier penetration but that would be less of a concern for me.

The choices for each individual are a bit subjective, but his choices are pretty good!

My choices would be similar, but also a bit different based on my likes and availability. For my Rifle I would likely use a 30-30, PC-9 or a Hi point 10mm all dependent on which house/door I was at and my handgun would be a Smith 1006 10mm. My shotgun would be similar but I would also add in a Model 70 in 7mm Mag in case I wanted to stop the unrest Down the block instead of at my door.
