    Smart Target Demo!

    Hello Gents,

I'm a young entrepreneur working dilligently to bring a brand new type of affordable smart targets to the industry. We call them LitHit and they have the ability to game, train, and drill with you unlike any other target on the market. For more information about the product, please check us out at lithit.com.

In order to get some feedback from you guys, LitHit will be hosting a demonstration of the product on March 6th and 14th from noon to 4pm at the multi-purpose range of the Santa Clara County Shooting Range located here. Please email us at team@lithit.com if you would like to participate in the demo! Your help is appreciated. If you can't make it to the demo, feel free to contact us with your thoughts about LitHit.

We look forward to seeing you!

So, it lights up if you hit anywhere on the paper?

What happens if you hit the lithit?

      Then it doesn't light up

But seriously... my wife always manages to hit at least one of the metal clips that we use to attach the paper to the target hanger.

I guess I could put the HitLight on the bottom of the paper... she never shoots low.

Now I'm a crusty old Luddite with Eli Whitney syndrome, but jebus it's 2017, ya gotta post some videos.

First thoughts: It's very expensive for what it does.

The parts ARE going to get shot, it's a question of when, not if, so you should include some replacement parts with the package. Maybe offer a cheap replacement price for the main element.

There are other light-em-up target systems out there, including ones that link different targets in a wide variety of games, and let you control the system with your phone. One that was also promoted on CG had lenses that could absorb quite a few rounds, and when they did become unusable the manufacturer would replace them, either free or dirt cheap, can't remember which.

Also, you misspelled "entrepreneur", so minus 5 points.
I meant, it is my opinion that...

Correct, our device lets you know when you have hit anywhere on your target. We tend to place smaller targets down range if we want to register a smaller grouping.

Our current prototypes are not protected, they would break if shot. That said, we do plan to manufacture the device to be protected by a piece of AR500 steel and a replaceable light lens in front. If the lens were to be shot, it would be very low cost to replace, no other part of the product would be damaged.

The light can be placed up to 3 feet in all directions from the target! Our prototypes are not shielded but our manufactured one will be protected with a piece of AR500 steel and light lens in front. If the device were to be shot, all that would have to be replaced is the light lens for a very low cost.

Videos are up on our site and youtube page here.

How do you value LitHit? What price point do you think would be justifiable?

We will be protecting the main element with a piece of AR500 when we move to manufacturing. We will also be offering replacement clip and clamp packages. If the main element is shot, all that would have to be replaced is the light lens for a very low cost.

Are you referring to autonomous alloys? Our product does connect back to your phone and syncs up with 6 other LitHit devices to offer many games, drills and scenarios with a target of your choice.

Good catch on the misspelling, it is now fixed = ).

I have to agree that $129 each is a little steep for most people. But, considering there's no competition out there, you could probably get away with it for the time being.

I think most people would consider $50 each a fair price. 3 for $150 sounds about right.

                  Hi K1dude,

Thanks for the feedback. If I were to alter it to the following pricing tiers what would you think?

                  $160 for 2 @ $80/device
                  $300 for 4 @ $75/device
                  $420 for 6 @ $70/device

I think that's more palatable. You'd probably attract a larger customer base with pricing like that.

Just placed my preorder for 3 of these. They had a little promo ($30 off) so thought I'd jump on it. Still a bit steep but I like to support up and coming intrepreneurs. Got a phone call from Anthony and Eric and spoke briefly to them. Sounds like 2 stand up guys trying to make an honest living. I do respect the fact that they reached out to ask about my concerns and thoughts on my purchase. Shows me that they're proactive and willing to listen to the public to better their service and product. Seems very interesting and fun so hopefully it all pans out. I do plan on using these on blm land but it may be too late when production starts to flow (possible fire season or the beginning of it). I believe they told me should be ready to go in July? I'll have to go back to their website to confirm. Well best of luck to Anthony and Eric.

Is the placement of the AR500 and replaceable lens good enough to protect from spalling when mounted on steel targets? I can see spalling destroying the mounting clamp and spring fairly quick.

That's a great question. Let me send them an email and what they have to say about that.

K1, we're usually very conscious of where we place LitHit. Almost always do we mount it above or offset/behind our metal targets. When we keep this in mind, it is not a problem. We also affix the sensor clip (I think you referred to this as the spring) to a point on the back of that metal target, using the target as a shield. When this isn't possible, we affix the sensor clip to a far edge of the metal target. Its very small and hasn't shown much wear. We will have inexpensive replacement packs incase one were to break.

We at LitHit love to shoot steel but we wanted to create an alternative. Metal targets are heavy, expensive, and cumbersome. Steel provides instant feedback with sound which is why we love it. LitHit provides instant feedback with a light and a "ping" to your smart phone through the app. It's a different feel, but once you get use to it, it's awesome. We feel the enjoyment of shooting steel indoors and out but with the use of cheap paper and cardboard targets. No more dragging steel down range for us!

Lithit has new pricing tiers that are more enticing. I have no correlation with them (just another consumer) but they've been nothing but stellar dudes. Give their link a once over and PM me for additional savings!!!
