    Magazine question HK

So I know purchasing rebuild kits is a big no no starting last year, and that manufacturing hi-caps is an even bigger no no. With that out of the way Im looking at the HK site for magazines for a USC carbine and saw they have 25rd magazine bodys, springs, followers, etc all seperately but they do not offer a blocked 10/25 Would there be an issue that anyone see's with me ordering a few mag bodys, and springs. Then a seperate order of the followers, baseplates so that I may be able to make my own CA legal blocked 10/25's for aesthetic purposes? Or Would there be any issue with ordering all the parts together seeing as they are all sold seperately and not in kit form? Not trying to get in any form of legal trouble here, if it means having to stick with my 10/10's so be it but I'm thinking this sounds ok???

Your best option is probably to get a FFL with a high-cap permit to order the mags, permanently block them and then sell them to you. Some CA FFLs will do this, Audiophil in AZ will do it, ymmv.

This is also a question better asked in the CA laws forum.

I doubt HK will ship the bodies into California.

Doesn't that audiophil2 guy offer to block mags as he is in AZ?

              umm...

In it's stock form the H&K USC uses a single-stack 10 round magazine that is not compatible with the UMP-45 double-stack 25 round magazines.

Because the USC is an imported semi-auto rifle it needs to be compliant with Federal laws [18 USC 922(r)].

Which is why they were designed to use a proprietary 10 round magazine and converting a USC to use UMP-45 magazines requires enough US parts to be 922r compliant.

H&K only makes 10 round magazines for the USC.
ProMag makes 15 round single-stack magazines & 20 round single-stack magazines for the USC.

The legality (or lack there of) of importing mag parts has also been covered in multiple threads recently.
