The only people I know of, and like you they are very indirect "someone I know has a cousin who has a grandma that is sick!", who were apparently suffering from the virus are very old or have other health problems. I feel bad for them. The flu would have affected them the same way. The virus is not Ebola.

OC is open, San Diego is not until Monday, and that exudes north San Diego county beaches like Del Mar and Solana, and the state beaches will remain closed. Also I never made a broad statement that all beaches were closed, I said closing beaches is going to push people over the edge. It doesn't matter if some are open, closing some is bad enough.

^^ A little to broad a statement OC beaches and san diego beaches open to some use. I was doing a site survey at Wilshire ad ocean today and it was gorgeous.
Ventura as well.

Our tax dollars are being used to pay cops to sit in all of the beach parking lots and patrol the beaches to make sure no one dares to get close to the sand. If you go to the beach you will be arrested and fined $1000 and/or six months in jail.

This is our government. We pay their salaries, they work for us.

Well, I work at a Government run makeshift "Confirmed case COVID-19 Hospital" and have never put a mask on. we have one movable wall between the "Hot" zone and our side of the building. Even the medical people mill around the "Warm" zone with ZERO PPE on. Then they put the stuff on and walk into the "Hot" zone. Warm zone is where the Hot zone hands off items to store or receive medicine from the makeshift pharmacy to use in the Hot zone.

Oh and BTW, 250 beds and about 12 patients.

Closing the beaches as we move into summer is going to push people over the edge. No one is going to get the virus from air blowing around at the beach. Even if they did, the mortality rate is the same as the flu. We don't destroy the economy and close the damn beaches because of the flu, why are we doing it for this?

Despite the best efforts of the media to hide the truth, people are starting to realize that the mortality rate is MUCH lower than first reported. Even idiot Cuomo said we need to reexamine how the first estimates were reached when he found out his state has a 14% infection rate. This whole thing was a hoax - a complete hoax from the beginning.
