In the August edition of the Sporting Clay magazine, there was an article on hearing protection devices from the different manufacturers. I've been using $2 foam plugs, and given how much I've been shooting clays, I like to invest in better protection.
I've shopped around on-line based on some of the brands listed in the article and am leaning towards the Chameleon by Ear Inc. It's nonelectronic (which makes it less than $500 for a set) and specifically molded to your own ear.
Question(s)
1. Welcome any feedback on the manufacturer (EarInc) and brand (Chameleon)
2. They offer a filtered and unfiltered version. I like filtered for being able to hear normal conversation (i.e., be situationally aware) but don't want to lessen the effectiveness of the ear plug. I can also imagine myself using this on a plane flight to drown out cabin noise and conversation (which then I think may make the unfiltered version better for that purpose).
3. If you have additional suggestions, please mention.

Welcome any input folks may have. Just trying to protect my hearing w/o having to spend 5 bills and up.
