    Don't know about the butt pad breaking off, but what I see these do most often is drop the shells out when the gun recoils.

    I've used Speedfeed gear, and it's what I have on my own 870.I think their gear is top shelf, but not the models with the extra shells on board.

      Well i'm a lefty so I don't like how the gap for the insert presses against my cheek. Plus I felt the stock was a bit long. I replaced mine with a Hogue 13" LOP one and it feels perfect now.

        Haven't had mine long enough to have this happen, but those springs ARE stiff.
