Well I got step one handled this evening.

Didn't think to take pictures until I already had the barrel off.

Uneventful except one of the "ears" (for lack of a better word) that holds the shell in the magazine tube, and you depress to remove the fore-arm came un-staked (again). Typically I can pop it back in, but not this time it wouldn't hold. I used a take down pin as a drift and the trigger assembly hold it in well. [Hey Aippi, if you read this give me a heads up if this can cause damage]

I've got other goodies on the way.

Many thanks to giants_fan24 for the stock, good transaction.

I've shot this gun for 16 duck season, no idea how many shells through her. The park is nearly worn through on all the corners.

(bathroom and kitchen have good light )

Unless I am missing something it looks like your ejector tab that indexes into the barrel shroud (in the back side of the reciever opposite the ejection port) is broken off right at the front rivet too. How does it eject, I bet the barrel wiggles a little bit when it is all tightend up? You may want to look into that. Aippi can tell for the picture.

Barrel does have a touch of wiggle in it. 10-15 thousandths.

It ejects great! I've shot this gun in awful conditions and It has never failed me.

I'll get a better photo of inside the receiver. Will probably be Monday evening as I'm heading out to go duck hunting this evening.

Good looking out there Joe, the ejector housing does appear broken off. You need to check that out there Barbarossa. If it is then that is a Gun Smith repair and a refinishing job to boot.

Really appreciate the heads up guys. Here are some more detailed photos. I'm not seeing anything out of the ordinary. Please post pics of a correct 870.

            bit dirty in the photos.

Those are much better pictures. Is it the same gun? The earlier pictures sure look like a broken ejector, I guess the back of the bolt is blocking the view?. The ejector extension in these later pictures is indeed intact, no problems.

                Yeah, same gun.

Thanks for the heads up, I appreciate it.

My 18.5" Barrel is on B/O with Midway till mid January. Got my TLR-1s yesterday.

Need to do the dimple removal and get a mount for the light.

(I like the light a lot, I have it on my XD now.)
