I have this happen is a couple of different guns shooting 'cheap' steel hull shells (read WallyMart) but never with Winc AA or Remington green or gold target rounds. Actually witnessed a fellow trapper jerk so hard he pulled the extractor off the bolt of his 870 Trap-TB. WallyWorld steel hulls!
The rest of the story .. we searched but did not find the little thing. A guy shooting on another squad came over, announced he was a quality inspector and spent his days looking for little flaws, something that should not be. He started scanning the ground and found not only the extractor but the little spring and ball! Took him no more than 3 minutes. I was impressed! He explained that we were looking for a particular little part while he was looking for something out of place. .....OOOKay!"Outlaw guns and only outlaws will have guns!" Unfornately, we may be moving in that direction.

Thankfully I never had that happen. The worst that happened to me was that after yanking on the slide really hard, the extractor slipped off the rim of the shell, leaving the fired shell in the chamber and trying to load another. I wound up having to unload the gun and then use a cleaning rod to pound out the fired shell.
After polishing the chamber it took care of the worst of it. The cheap bulk pack (wally world) shells will still require more force to extract\eject once in a while but I haven't had to pound one out with a cleaning rod since. As soon as I get through the rest of the cheap ammo I have on hand I will stick to Winchester AA, the little bit of extra cost is well worth not having to deal with this issue."Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch.
