Im looking for a stock for my 870 HD, I like the way it is now but I want it to be a little bit easier to store in a vehicle or on a pack while hiking it's for the house,SHTF,bear protection,camp protection all that good stuff. I remember seeing a stock on a remington 870 with a breaching choke on it that had a top folding? metal stock like a AK underfolder almost? cant seem to find it. but it's like a skeleton style. Any help would be appreciated.

I believe you're looking for a stock made by Knoxx. They make a wire top-folder. I'll find the link for you....

It's just like that but it was not made by knoxx it had a regular type pistol grip I remember distinctly but dont know of the brand ahhh.Comment

I bought the folding wire knoxx stock with 50 percent recoil reduction when knoxx still owned the business. blackhawk.com now owns knoxx. The new model comes with a vulcanized rubber butt pad on the butt of the stock.
The recoil reducer works wonders. My 870 is still over the 26 inch limit even with the 18 1/2 inch barrel. There is a video showing a guy shooting a 12 gauge with the recoil reducer, one handed.

Of course it's hard to say what you remember seeing. When you described it I thought of two, neither of which are top folders, however:

You may mean the Buttler Creek Folder and yes it has a pistol grip and a place for four rounds to be stored in it.....I have a new one that is a gun smith take off that I took of a new 870 and will take $50 for it. E-mail meJD McGuire, Owner
