Ordered my first pump shotgun and looking for storage and transport ideas. It will be setup for home defense with an 18.5" barrel at home and go to the range most likely broken down and a 28" barrel will go once I get there. I was looking at the Condor Single Rifle Case as a soft case for traveling perhaps, but don't know what to do about home storage. Open to ideas for home and travel bags/cases! Thanks

Storage and Transport Ideas?

I just use a cheap, under $10, soft gun case to go to and from the range.
At home, I leave the gun out of the case. Leaving it in the case can cause rust, if there's any trapped moisture. That said, I used to leave it in the case and I didn't have any problems with that. I don't swim with my guns and I rarely shoot in the rain. -
For shotguns, I use the soft sided cases for travel. Some have a little more padding than others which I'll use for the nicer guns. You can also add a gun sock for a little extra protection, if you want.
I NEVER store them at home in the gun cases. They all come out and go in the safe. If it's a defensive gun, then it has a dedicated spot for it elsewhere.NRA Life MemberComment
