    "NEW" Browning

    My new Browning Challenger II

I am not a expert on them and this is the only one I have ever owned but I like it alot.

Seems it is going to be very accurate and reliable from the little I have shot it so far. Just got it 3 days ago.. Kinda neat that this one was made the first year of the Challenger II in 1976. And was the 1055th one made. That is what I got from the Browning website anyway..The II model was still the all steel frame and slide.

I got a very good deal I think at 200.00 tax free..

Anyway just thought I would share a pic and go ahead and throw up some info and a pic if you have one also.I would surely like to learn more about the Challenger model...Thanks

It's a handsome gun! I have a newer one (2012). It's OK, but your gun looks cool, like it should have a nice neat glass of scotch sitting beside it!

Thanks, I drank all my Scotch up last year.

I bought this and a brand new Ruger MKIII on the same day..Though I got the Ruger at a good price, 250.00, I knew I could not keep both. It did not take long to decide which one to keep. The Ruger went down the road yesterday

It was kinda a buy both or none kinda deal..

        Nice.

You can always get another MKIII.

Yes the mags are pricey. I am hoping to find atleast one additional original or maybe a couple aftermarket. I believe that possibly the BuckMark mags can be modified slightly and work in the challenger II

Nice Browning, I have a Challenger made in 1966 haven't shot it much but it will get the job done.
Look over at rimfire central there were a couple of threads about what fits and what can be tweaked to fit.

You have the more desirable and pricier Belgium made early model then. Nice

You got a killer deal! I have one I picked up a few years ago. Even though the sights are small, they are incredibly accurate guns. One of my favorites to shoot, super reliable and simple. That trigger is like glass, so much nicer than any MKIII. Enjoy

Buck Mark mags can easily be adapted to work. Go to RFC's Browning Forum, and someone can walk you through it, if that's what you need. Also, check out these web pages by RFC member Chim, a lot of good info on them. I have three 'Marks, wish I had what you have, very nice indeed.
