    .17 WSM ammo.....

Has anyone got a line on .17 WSM ammo? I just bought a Savage B-Mag, and can't find ammo, to sight it in, with the new scope. I have been trying all of the local stores here, in E. Oklahoma, and NW Arkansas, and all of the major online national retailers. Nothing. I even asked Winchester, who is the ONLY company, making the ammo, with no joy. I am hoping someone can point me in the direction of a retailer, who has some, and not pay the $1.00 a round, they cost, from the one retailer, selling it on GunsAmerica. It's supposed to be in the $15-$17 a box of 50, price range.
I have a ton of squirrels and rabbits to shoot, and the coyotes have taken enough of my fowl. They need to die, ASAP.
    Help, please!

My local Wal-Mart in NorCal has it (10+ boxes). Try there. Good Luck

Yes, OneFunGuy, Oklahoma and Arkansas. I finally escaped "The People's Republik of Kommiefornia", earlier this year. But, since the ammo is scarce here, I thought I'd check with my friendly, former co-inmates, behind the iron curtain.
CCrawford, thanks. Walmart won't sell me any from the stores out there, only through Wallyworld dot com. And, they, too, are OOS. I'm hoping there might be a Turners, or major seller, there, that might have some.

Got lucky on GB. Guy had one box of 25 gr's listed and I emailed him on what else he had. Got 5 box's of 25's and 1 of 20 for $140 shipped. Figured $23 a box shipped wasnt too bad.

Just curious, why didn't you check ammo availability before making that purchase? There are other varmint go-getters out there that are better-stocked.

I recommend you contact friends of yours who would be willing to check their local mid-size retail sporting goods stores (Dick's, Sportsman's Warehouse, Big-5, etc) and have them buy what you need, then get it to you.

I have quite a few boxes (I shoot a lot) and most are from doing what I stated above.

Almost $1 per round of rimfire?? Doesn't it defeat the purpose? It was supposed to be cheap accurate ammo one can shoot all day long. I better use my 223

Cabela's gets it periodically and it stays in stock for a day or so. It was in stock last two days ago. One place to check is Slickguns... click "ammo", and click "17 WSM". Usually there is none.

I think the price is $16 per 50 delivered if shipped free. .32 per round - still not cheap, but not $1 a round. Still, I can shoot Tula or Herter's (also Tula) .223 I bought this year for .25 a round delivered.

The WSM rounds being sold probably have nice Varmint bullets though. .223 varmint cartridges are closer to .60 per round on sale:

$.47 a round. 6 boxes, 50 rounds in a box. 300 rounds divided by $140. $23 a box of 50 is still a lot better than what people are gouging. still not the $17-$18 they should be retail after tax/shipping...

I got mine for right around $15.00 to $17.00 a box, plus tax. OP, some of mine came from a Big-5 in San Bernardino, so definitely check those shops in your area of OK.
