ISSC MK22 Supressor threading

As for fake cans, is the adapter really necessary? Unless Im mistaken, the muzzle is already threaded on the outside at a standard 1/2"x28. A good deal of the fake suppressors I see for sale will mate to that without an adapter. Am I correct?

And if so, what products do you guys like?

I apologize if this has already been addressed but would still appreciate any advice.
