    Marlin 795 Question

I love my Marlin 795, it's fairly new with only about 150 rounds sent downrange. My only concern with the rifle is with the action. I'm not sure on the nomenclature here, so I'll do my best to describe it:

The (what I believe is called) charging handle is very loose and has a lot of play. It doesn't seem to effect the operation of the rifle, but it's bothersome. I took the trigger assembly out of the gun to look for an easy way to tighten it, but it looked like a bit more than I was willing to mess with.

Does anyone else have a similar issue? Is this normal on the rifle?

    Thanks!

Correct me if i am wrong but the handle can be pushed in when the bolt is back to act as the bolt hold open, correct?
the handle also spins, at least on the guns sold at my store.
I've had customers come back in and have us take a look at it, there is a "free floating" handle that moves on top of the actual bolt. Its not your regular solid bolt handle like on the remington 597 or ruger 10/22
But it works, it might just be something you have to get used to, they're nice guns especially for the money!

they are loose. my rifle has about 6k rounds down range and its as loose now as it was then. you can try getting the DIP products: http://www.diproductsinc.com/products.aspx?CAT=3603

But generally it is loose. the part that did have an issue for me was the plastic trigger guard housing, it started to break after i had stripped and cleaned the rifle for the 15th or more time, no biggie, i ordered the DIP replacement and got back to business. I got the trigger replacement as well for fun, that offered an interesting option. the spring used in the trigger assembly sat high and clumsy on the new trigger because the notch was not as deep, so i ground the spring tip down a bit.

Okay, well if that's par for the course I suppose I'll have to get over it. Just good to know that I don't have a dud!

        Thank you for your replies.
