Green Mountain barrel fixed/ good report

Well as some of you know from a past post i was having problems with my GM barrel. It was sent in and re worked and i took it out today. I love it. I sighted it in at about 50-60 yards and it was shooting groups the size of a quarter. some were bullet in bullet so i was just all smiles. My 10 year old nephew was shooting hot wheels @ 30-40 yards time and time again. I'm happy with the barrel 100%. also take note that i was using bulk Blazer ammo so I'm sure i can tighten up the groups just a hair more with some CCI.
I would also like a lighter trigger pull but im going to start a new thread for that.

    Cool, congrats man

Mine likes CCI Blazer too. You should try some Wolf Match Target and try it out. Should shoot about one hole at 50 yards with Wolf. Apparently the Wolf Match Extra isnt that much better for the extra money. A lot of guys love Wolf MT

Was your stock barrel shot out when you replaced?

IIRC, he was getting failures with the barrel before he sent it in.

OP, so what did they end up doing to the barrel? Did they rechamber?

The chamber radius was too deep so they cut it down and now she goes pop pop pop every time, no ejection problems either. Shot it again today and improved my groups a little. i can hit a quarter from 50 yards out every time. What should a .22 be sighted at? 50 yards 100 yards? 50 seems just right to me

              biggyfan1,

Keep shooting as he barrel gets better and better over time. Usually for myself I don't shoot for groups until an easy 500 rounds goes through he barrel first. Sooner or later it'll stat shooting dime size groups as time goes on. Just remember not to ding the crown.
