First time out today with this, new to me, 22/45 MKIII 5.5" bull barrel Ruger.
All I can say is awesome! Wait, I'm going to say more. It ate everything I had, Federal bulk and Winchester XPert. I shot over 500 rounds and had a few duds but other than that it functioned perfectly. I did have one event where the slide locked open but I believe I may have been pushing up inadvertently on the slide lock. I performed the "slingshot" mod (removed detent ball & spring from slide lock) and now I can see why some install a spring to keep it pushing down unless the mag is installed. The slingshot mod is great though, just rack the slide and let go without dicking around with the button. I also removed the metal tab from the LCI so it is now only a placeholder. And of course I got rid of the mag safety. Mags drop free and makes assy/dis-assy much easier.
My only real complaint is the grip is a bit thin so I can see an improvement coming once I figure out if I will glue on or grind and void the warranty.
