I don't know when they started selling them, but I do know that I legally own high cap BC smoked mags. I bought them brand new in 1995.

This shouldn't matter anyway, as you can use new components to replace worn components on your preban 25rd mag.

I asked this and there is no law apparently about sanding the lettering off a magazine and painting them. Serial number on a gun is a whole different story though.

Now how about this one. What year did BC start selling smoke colored mags?

As long as one component of the original mag can fit.. you can replace them no problem.
Pretty much as long as you don't end up with more high caps than you started with.

theoretically all our butler creek magazines should be vintage 1994 since the crime bill outlawed sale of any magazine built after that date to be for leo military only

but companies knew this was happening and ramped up production

the ban expired in 2004 then companies started making magazines for the people again

back when i bought my 1300 shotgun in 1995 big five had one butler creek smoked hot lip on the peg for $13.95 i told them to tape it to the shotgun box and i'd pay for it when i did my pick up

Every peace officer in the State is issued a new penal code every year. It is printed in that. But if you want to carry a copy on you go to http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/calaw.html and you can print it.
